The Best in Hair Removal Options for You

Posted in Beauty on May 25th, 2008

How can you best get rid of hair you have growing where you don’t want it? You can be lumped right in with the millions of people all over the world who have hair growing where it is not wanted. I found, though, that there is good news for all of us: there are a plethora of hair removal options that are effective and accessible to us.

The reasons for wanting hair removed are as varied as the people of the earth. For many women, hair removal is part of their daily routine as they remove hair from legs, underarms, and any number of other places made necessary by society, comfort, or even clothing fashions. As for men, most of us shave our facial hair and some men even practice hair removal on other parts of the body. Still others, like those afflicted with disorders like hypertrichosis and hisutism need hair removal for medical reasons.

There are two basic types of hair removal: permanent and temporary. Temporary hair removal works for only a short period of time before it must be repeated. It is, obviously, affected by the growth rate of your hair. There are also permanent hair removal treatments that get rid of hair permanently or at least for several years. These are the ones we will focus on.

The most popular form of permanent hair removal is electrolysis. In this particular treatment, each hair that is being removed requires individual treatment. What happens is that a licensed professional will inject a small needle into the follicle of each individual hair, one at a time. An electric charge is sent into the follicle and it kills its ability to create or hold hair. Depending on how big an area you are having treated, the process can take anywhere form hours to days to months. It is also very expensive, up to $3000.

A second permanent hair removal option is laser hair removal. A small laser beam is fired into each follicle and destroys it. It is not as painful a process as electrolysis. However, it is not recommended if you have tanned or dark skin. It works best if you have light skin and dark hair, but consult a professional before you have it done.

A third hair removal procedure with permanent effects is the photo epilation pulsed laser method. The method has no restrictions on skin color, shade, or even hair color. Also, this is the method most recommended for use on sensitive parts of the body like the pubic area.

Living in the image conscious society that we do, hair removal is like anything else: important. Permanent hair removal is at a premium because of the fact that it not only removes the hair, but also eliminates the upkeep necessary with temporary hair removal. There are a number of procedures you can have done to get hair removed permanently and there are certainly pros and cons associated with each. Your best bet is to consult with a hair removal professional to determine which method may be best for you and your situations since there are times when hair color, skin shade, and location of the hair can all be factors in which method will work best.

Understanding The Texas Lemon Law

Posted in Vintage Cars + More on May 25th, 2008

Contrary to what its name suggests, the Texas Lemon Law is not a
legislation that deals with the buying and selling of fruits or
rule against its bright color.

It does not even come close.

Rather it involves the right of American consumers, who buy
vehicles, used or brand new, cars or trucks, to return defective
products and ask for a refund.

Along with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and the Uniform
Commercial Code, the Texas Lemon Law or Lemon Law in general
protects the rights of American citizens to quality products
that would give them value for their money.

In general, the Lemon Law requires car manufacturers and not car
dealers to refund the money a consumer has paid for if a car is
found to be a “lemon.” The definition of a “lemon car” is of
course different with every state depending on what the state
legislation says. Usually, states differ in their definition of
what a “lemon” car is and the period of warranty that is given
to the consumer.

The Texas Lemon Law, for one, allows for four repair attempts or
30 days out of service for defects that are not so
life-threatening. For serious product defects that pose a
serious safety hazard such as problems in the steering wheel or
in the brake, the Texas Lemon Law allows for only two repair
attempts. If after the stated number of repair attempts, the
defects have not been fixed, then a car will considered a
“lemon” and therefore eligible for refund. The repair attempts
under the Texas Lemon Law should of course happen within a
period of two years or 24,000 miles whichever comes first for
the four attempts. A period of one year or 12,000 miles is given
to defects that affect the safety of the car.

Similar to other state laws, the Texas Lemon Law also requires
consumers to have their cars fixed in authorized service centers
and to make no unauthorized modification or alterations in the
car. This is done to avoid questions that will be raised by
manufacturer as they are accorded the right to investigate and
challenge the claim. If the defect has been found to be caused
by neglect, abuse and alterations not sanctioned by the
manufacturer then no refunds will be given.

Consumers, under the Texas Lemon Law, are also asked to put
their complaint into writing, stating the defects of the car.
This is especially needed if it is stated in the vehicle’s
manual. Supporting documents should be kept in hand such as
receipt of the purchase, which would state when the car was
bought, repair receipts as well as diagnosis of the problem.

In addition to refunding the money, the Texas Lemon Law may also
invoke the manufacturer to pay for incidental costs that the
consumer has incurred due to the defect in question such as
towing services and even rental of car while the “lemon” is
still in the repair shop. Refunds will also not be given in
full. Under the Texas Lemon Law, the purchase price will be
lessened by the equivalent amount of the mileage that the owner
has used the car.

While most companies have good arbitration programs which they
use to cut down legal costs just in case the complaint goes to
court, there are some car manufacturers who will remain firm
that the defect was not there when you bought the car. If this
happens, complainants are encouraged to seek legal counsel.

Personalise Your Landscaping

Posted in Gardening on May 25th, 2008

What does your landscaping say about you? For your home or business, having a great looking outdoor space reflects not only on your home but also on you, and the things you like. If you haven’t thought about it in the past, now is the perfect time to consider the layout, function and appeal that your outdoor spaces have to offer.

Hire a professional to help you design your outdoor landscape. When you do so, plan out what you would like each area or section to be used for or what type of layout you would like it to have. For example, perhaps there is an pathway that circles your gardens. Perhaps making this a cobblestone path will give it the right feel for the space? You don’t have to use a country style theme to really enjoy what this space has to offer, though. You can make it more upscale by using classic clean lines and elegant flowers within the landscaping.

For all landscaping needs there is the need for a trusted professional to guide you and to help you formulate the right plan. Give these professionals your ideas and let them create the best plan for you and your outdoor goals.

Canadian Business and Investor Visa

Posted in Enterprise on May 25th, 2008

Applying for a Business visa is a major undertaking especially if you are thinking of relocating your business in Canada. One of the main processes to start the ball rolling is to be able to prove that the funds you have available are not the proceeds of crime. Any applications have to be made from the country of residence of the applicant.

People who are experienced in business matters or have sufficient funds for investment could qualify for a Business Visa. They are expected to contribute to the development of the Canadian economy either by investing in or starting a business in Canada. There are three different types of Business Visa Immigrant that can be applied for:

1. Investors - this program is aimed at people with at least two years recent business experience and sufficient capital. Investors must have a minimum net worth of CDN $800,000 and make an investment of CDN $400,000 that is used by either the Provinces or Territories to boost the local economy. The C$400,000 investment is administered by the Citizenship and Immigration Canada and is returned to the “investor” after around 5 years. No interest is paid as a zero interest promissory note will be issued to the applicant that is non transferable and has to be presented to the CIC for repayment of the C$400,000.

Though not mandatory, it is recommended that a “facilitator” (authorized by the CIC and are normally representatives from one of the national banks) is used to represent the investor with no costs incurred - CIC will pay the fees.

Once you have proof of funds you must earn at least 35 points from the CIC selection table. After this, you must pass a medical and then the standard security and immigration checks. Provided you satisfy all these requirements, you will then be informed by the CIC how to make the investment payment and once received, the permanent resident visa will be issued. Once awarded there are no extra conditions applied to your residency terms.

2. Entrepreneurs - this program is aimed at experienced people who can create jobs and contribute to the Canadian economy by owning and managing profit orientated businesses. Entrepreneurs must have a minimum of two years business experience and a minimum net worth of CDN$300,000.

As with the investor program you must score at least 35 points from the CIC selection table.
One major difference is that you will have to give a written brief of your intentions and how you will meet given conditions of the Canadian business environment. Then, once you are resident, you will then have 3 years to physically fulfill these requirements.

During the initial 18 months of your residency you will be expected to contact your local CIC office and give them firm evidence of the progress of your endeavours so far.

3. Self-employed persons - this program is aimed at people who can create their Own Employment, this may be by buying and running a farm in Canada for example. You must be able to show that you have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in the 5 years preceding the application. This relevant experience is limited to three distinct areas. They must contribute to the cultural or athletic life of Canada (check the NOC classifications), be a world class athlete or have farm management experience.

There are several different aspects to this, the third class of visa, from the other two. There are no further conditions once you have landed as a resident and you do not have to demonstrate any net worth requirements other than the standard settling funds required for your family.

The Application Fee is non-refundable and is payable at the time of application. This applies to the principle applicant, any accompanying spouse or common-law partner and dependent children.

The second fee payable is the Right of Permanent Residence Fee, this fee is refundable if you cancel your application, Citizenship and Immigration Canada do not issue you the business visa or if you do not use your visa. It can be paid at any time during the application process but must be paid before your Permanent Residence visa can be issued and applies to the principle applicant, any accompanying spouse or common-law partner. All fees are payable in Canadian Dollars.

5 Ways to Find Volvo Parts

Posted in Vintage Cars + More on May 24th, 2008

You love your Volvo, right. However, its time to replace a part,
it could something that is hidden like a fan belt or a prominent
piece of the vehicle such as the emblem or steering wheel. It
really doesn’t matter what part needs replacing, what matters is
the quality and price of the replacement part. You have worked
hard for your Volvo and you deserve genuine Volvo replacement
parts. These tips will explain the best way to locate these
parts.

1- When you are looking for a replacement part, be it a
replacement visor or a clutch master cylinder, the array of
available sources can be hard to sift through. If price is not a
concern for you, the dealership is one of the best choices
around and even if price is an issue, the dealer is usually the
best place to start. They will be able to give you an
approximate price and may even be willing to give you some
installation tips as well.

2- If the dealer is out of your price range, there are many more
avenues to pursue. Looking online for a part is an obvious
choice, and a good one. There is so much information available
online that it is almost overwhelming. A good place to start
searching for the Volvo part that you need is in forums, these
can be in regards to the general subject of cars or specialized
for Volvos in particular. The people that frequent these forums
range in knowledge from experts to the people who just drove
their new car off the lot. When you do find and expert, they are
usually more than willing to help you in any way possible, after
all, they are Volvo owners who love their cars too.

3- While online, be sure to look over the websites of car part
dealers. These websites offer the chance to see pictures and
read user reviews of the parts you are contemplating. Online
websites may also offer free shipping or deeply discounted price
as well as delivering to you door.

4- Swap meets and auctions can also be great places to find the
Volvo parts you are looking for. You can find both swap meets
and auctions on and offline, of course, there are advantages and
disadvantages to both. The online swap meet and auction allows
you to do business with people from all over the world, however,
you are relying on pictures and some ones’ word that they will
deliver. On the other hand, local swap meets and auctions will
have less people to deal with, but you can see and handle the
products that they have available as well as take them home if
you desire.

5- Above all, have fun during your search for the part that you
need, even if it’s only a fan belt. The item itself is not as
important as the knowledge that you are giving your car what it
deserves, the best parts you can afford.

Lessons for Life: How to be Humble

Lessons for Life: How to be Humble

Our culture says that humility is a virtue.

However, we often fail to apply the concept in our own lives.

Some of us look for aggressiveness in our children. We think that it will help them to succeed in life. It also will make you proud when your son scores a touchdown or makes the “All State” debate team.

But have you noticed that some of the greatest athletes are humble, that some of the greatest intellects are humble, and that some of the greatest leaders are humble?

What! Your culture doesn’t say that humility is a virtue?

Try this if you are Jewish or Christian:

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chr. 7:14

Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. Prov. 16: 19

And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:
Isa. 5: 15

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matt. 18: 4

And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. Matt. 23: 12

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. James 4: 10

Here is one from the Koran:

Surely (as to) those who believe and do good and humble themselves to their Lord, these are the dwellers of the garden, in it they will abide. The Holy Prophet 11.23

Go to http://www.unification.net/ws/theme128.htm to study what the world’s religions say about humility and being humble.

Here is a Native American tradition:

The Lamenter [who is seeking a vision] cries, for he is humbling himself,
remembering his nothingness in the presence of the Great Spirit.
Native American Religions. Black Elk, Sioux Tradition

Here is a Mormon scripture:

Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers. D&C 112:10

There is something about being a benevolent and humble person that exceeds the expectations of the angry core of our crocodilian being. We have that great urge to survive, to remove or run from threats, to grab food wherever we can find it, to reproduce, to fight when bored, to grovel in our minds.

When we find a humble person eager to share what he or she has, we are surprised and then pleased.

Why do I combine benevolence with humility? Because they go hand-in-hand don’t they? A humble person gives his or her soul to God and serves others not expecting any earthly reward.

Here is an opinion that I’ve had for many years: The most effective leaders and the best leaders are benevolent. This applies to religious leaders, of course, but it equally applies to business executives.

Does being humble drop your self esteem?

I don’t think so. It simply places you in the scheme of things now and in the hereafter. You no longer have to think of yourself being the brightest, cleverest, strongest, best looking person in the world.

If you are rich it will diminish the fact and you will become more benevolent. You will seek wisdom more than riches and you will govern your affairs with dignity and honor.

A humble person can take bad luck much better than a person less humble.

I have noticed over the years that people from poor straights can take a loss better than a more wealthy person or a person of higher social status. They expect bad luck and they can cope with it.

Humility is the beginning of knowledge.

If you say that you know nothing about the fauna of Egypt but would like to know about it, you are on your way to gaining knowledge. You will feed your mind and you will be grateful for that knowledge and you will seek more knowledge.

If you say that you know nothing about a subject and you have no desire to learn more because you are afraid that you might not understand the knowledge you receive, you will be miserable if you don’t even try to gain such knowledge. You are “suffering” from low esteem not humility. A humble person says that one will do the best one can to learn.

A humble person will do what he can to serve others.

A humble person will search for wisdom.

A humble person will be grateful for all he receives.

A humble person will recognize that he knows little but can learn much more.

A humble person will not be aggressive to others.

A humble person will take care of his family and give them support in all that they do.

A humble person will love God and recognize that God will lead him to truth and knowledge.

The End

How To Start Your Own Affiliate Program

Posted in Net Commerce on May 24th, 2008

1. Why Start Your Own Affiliate Program?

Multiple web sites and distributors selling your product can result in increased sales and profits. Unlike conventional advertising, affiliate programs pay only for performance. Commissions are not paid out unless sales are made.

Also, with many more web sites linking to yours, your link popularity is sure to increase in search engines, resulting in additional traffic and income.

2. Combine a Merchant Account with Your Affiliate Program

If your product is downloadable (such as electronic books or software), you might consider ClickBank.com. For a $49.95 initial fee, you can process credit cards and on-line cheques for $1.00 per transaction plus 7.5% of sales. As an added bonus, you have your own built-in affiliate program.

ClickBank gives you a listing on their web site and visitors can buy your products and join your affiliate program. You choose the commission rate you are willing to pay. All commission payments are handled by ClickBank. One downside is that you can`t run a two-tiered program.

3. Use an Affiliate Program Script

If you are comfortable with running CGI scripts, you may wish to install your own affiliate program on your server and administer the affiliate program yourself.

Be forewarned, though, that this is a lot of work. You will be responsible for all the testing, security, commission payments, promotion and so on. Another downside: Will your potential affiliates trust you since their commissions are not tracked and paid by an independent third party?

4. Use a Hosted Solution

There are good reasons for not hosting your affiliate program on your server. Perhaps you don`t have the time to administer all the aspects of an affiliate program. Maybe your time could be used more productively in other areas of your business. Additionally, an independent third party tracking and paying affiliate commissions inspires confidence in prospective affiliates. Finally, you just might benefit from the additional exposure that an affiliate network brings you.

ClixGalore.com is an example of an affiliate network. You will need to pay a $75.00 deposit to cover affiliate commissions. They charge 25% of any affiliate commissions paid. For example, if you paid an affiliate a 10% commission on a $100.00 sale, you would pay the affiliate $10.00 and ClixGalore $2.50.

With ClixGalore, you can also have a two-tier program. Taking the above example, if you paid affiliates for finding other affiliates, you might pay 2% on your second tier. That would be another $2.00 commission and $ .50 affiliate network fee for a total of $15.00 in commissions on both levels.

5. For All Affiliate Programs

Setup your own web page (or pages) outlining the benefits of your affiliate program. Offer articles, suggestions, text and banner links, and other useful support for your affiliates.

Offer a generous commission so that others feel motivated to sell for you. Obtain the e-mail addresses of your affiliates so that you can keep in touch with them to aid them to sell more.

For increased traffic, sales and profits, start your own affiliate program.

The Secret to Wealth Online

Posted in Better Marketing on May 24th, 2008

Copyright 2006 Timothy Rohrer

Success is highly dependent on the individual behind the business. Granted there is enough information available on the internet to make your head explode, but being able to identify the correct business opportunity can lead you to a massive wealth building nest egg.

Last summer I decided that if I wanted to change my financial situation, I had to first change what I was doing. Many people dream of making an extra income online, but very few actually do it simply because it takes time and effort. I am living proof that anyone can do this if you have a strong desire to succeed. To make a long story short, I did some research online and found a company called, “Mazu Publishing.” The company has been reviewing home based business opportunities for 10 years and provided some very good information on home based businesses. I’ve taken the information from various companies and applied it online which lead to a massive explosion of my income.

Initially, during my research online, I found many companies with the same shallow promises claiming to make me a millionaire in a few months time or even a year. I am a firm believer that online businesses work, but it’s just wrong to make false claims unless you have a large sum of money to invest and can double your money every month, you will not be a millionaire in 1 year. Each of these companies had their own unique costs and different business opportunities. I decided to go with the most reputable company that was affordable at the time and one that fit my needs.

Many people ask how do you know exactly what type business opportunity to get involved with if there are so many choices? The first thing I look for in any company is how long they have been around for. New companies come and go everyday, but a company that has been around for a few years provides some credibility.

The second most import aspect when looking for the right opportunity is being able to identify a product or service that people need. In some cases it’s a task that you can perform online such as trading or perhaps an investment that offers a 10% return on your money per month. My recommendation is to choose the opportunity that best suits your needs. If you feel up to networking and talking with other people, then perhaps a company with a great product to show other people is what you are looking for. If you do not wish to talk to anyone or sell anything, then perhaps you are looking for a passive opportunity where all the work is done for you.

When you find an internet business that looks good, make sure to find out how long the company has been around for. Find a business that is suitable for you and not for someone else. What you feel is a great business, may not be for the next person. One thing successful people have in common and that they are confident and decisive. If you feel the opportunity is right and you know you can make it work, than your chances are it will succeed.
